Plaza Retail Rollout begins at North Houston’s CityPlace mixed-use District in Springwoods Village with Opening of Focus Optical

HOUSTON, TX – May 12, 2020 – CityPlace, a best-in-class mixed-use district anchoring north Houston’s Springwoods Village, welcomes its first plaza-fronting retail tenant with the debut of Focus Optical. The specialty concept, which opened on May 4 at 1700 City Plaza Drive, offers a range of personalized optometry services – along with a curated selection of distinctive and exclusive frame lines – in a luxury, boutique setting. The 1,984-square-foot office and showroom is conveniently situated on the ground floor of CityPlace 1, adjacent to soon-to-open Common Bond Bistro & Bakery and steps from the central green.

This is the second area location for Focus Optical, which was founded in 2016 by Woodlands-based owner/operators Drs. Thy and Christopher Nguyen. Premium lens options and technology from Zeiss and Essilor are paired with sought-after brands like Lindberg, Tom Ford, Gucci, Oakley and Ray Ban to name a few. Brand offerings include eye exams, contact lens fittings, eye disease monitoring, LASIK and cataract co-management, Orthokeratology and telemedicine in lieu of some office visits.

Most major insurance carriers are accepted, as well as HSA/FSA cards. For many lens prescriptions, same day glasses are available, depending on frame selection.

According to Thy Nguyen, “We’re glad we made the decision to open last week and were pleasantly surprised by the traffic from both existing clients and new customers. We have high hopes for this location given the caliber of the CityPlace development, in addition to the area’s beautiful setting and pedestrian orientation that add to the overall appeal for visitors.”

To protect the safety of clients and staff, Focus Optical has implemented a variety of COVID protocols. All staff and doctors wear masks and gloves; stringent sanitizing efforts include cleaning and disinfecting all glasses after trial; customer capacity is limited to five people at CityPlace; and all office visits require an appointment and are capped at one patient per hour to eliminate overlap. Additionally, Focus Optical is featuring shipping or curbside pickup of all glasses and contact lens orders.
